VAN PARTIBLE
Van Partible is the creator/director/writer of Cartoon Network’s half-hour series, Johnny Bravo. In 1993, Partible graduated from Los Angeles’ Loyola Marymount University where he majored in art, with an emphasis in animation. While in school, he produced and directed four animated films. One of those films, A Mess O' Blues, included Partible writing, storyboarding, directing the recording, transferring the dialogue to exposure sheets, animating the film, performing the pencil tests and creating backgrounds. With a little help from his friends, he inked and painted the cels and shot the film.
After viewing one of his senior films, Hanna-Barbera approached Partible to develop a project for Cartoon Network’s World Premiere Toons. That project resulted in three seven-minute shorts, two of which were based on his "Johnny Bravo" character, a man with big muscles and even bigger hair who continually proves to be his own worst enemy. After it’s initial airing, Johnny Bravo was voted the number-one favorite among viewers and plans were made to expand the short into a half-hour series. His third short, Jungleboy, stars a little boy with the manners of an Eagle Scout and the strength of a superhero.
